Richard brings more than two decades of international experience across the oil, gas, and energy sectors, having held senior commercial and trading positions with BP and SK Energy & Chemical before joining Saichild Commodities Asia (SCA) in 2020.
As Head of Trading, Richard leads the firm's commercial trading activities, overseeing transaction origination, commercial negotiations, trade execution, and market development across global energy markets. He works closely with producers, refineries, national oil companies, commodity suppliers, and strategic counterparties to structure commercially sound transactions while ensuring compliance with operational, financial, and regulatory requirements.
Leveraging deep expertise in physical commodity markets, Richard directs the trading desk in market intelligence, supply-demand analysis, contract structuring, commercial risk assessment, and transaction execution. His leadership spans the full transaction lifecycle, from counterparty qualification and negotiations to logistics coordination and successful deal completion.
Richard also plays a key role in expanding SCA's global trading network, strengthening strategic partnerships, and promoting disciplined governance through rigorous due diligence, prudent risk management, and adherence to international trade practices.
