The US dollar is set to end the week a touch stronger against most currencies, adding to its gains last week. But, aside from the Japanese yen round-tripping on news over the next BoJ governor, it’s been a relatively quiet week for the greenback – not for the first time this year. Indeed, at its current level of ~103.5, the dollar DXY index is now back to almost exactly where it began 2023. Whether this proves to be the eye of the storm remains to be seen.
