Specifications for EN 590 Diesel and EN 590 Gas Oil

EN 590 is the European standard that defines the quality requirements for diesel fuel used across EU member states and other European countries. This grade is commonly known as ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD).

 

All road diesel (DERV) currently sold complies with EN 590 and includes a mandatory 7% biodiesel blend by volume, typically using EN 14214 FAME biodiesel. For EN 590 gas oil, the inclusion of biodiesel and specific cetane levels is optional.
